CYA Supply IWB Holster Review Comments Off on CYA Supply IWB Holster Review

After purchasing the Smith and Wesson Bodyguard 2.0 last November, I purchased a fantastic IWB holster for it from CYA Supply Co.

I was so impressed with my new CYA “Base” IWB holster, that I ended up getting a second one for my Bodyguard 2.0, along with their “Path” Premium Adjustable IWB holster, for my M&P 2.0 Compact 3.6.

I’ve tried many different holsters over the years and Kydex has been my material of choice. However, CYA Supply Co, uses a similar, but better thermoplastic material called Boltaron. The advantages of Boltaron include better impact resistance, especially in colder weather along with a better consistency of thickness and grain pattern.

In this article, I’ll review both the CYA “Base” and “Path” IWB holsters.

Who is CYA Supply Co?

CYA Supply Co is a veteran-owned company, located in San Antonio, TX, founded in 2015. CYA designs and manufactures in the USA, premium quality, IWB holsters at affordable prices..

CYA offers three (3) types of IWB holsters, for 21 firearms brands, including Glock and Smith & Wesson. All CYA holsters are precision engineered from 3D scanned molds of the actual firearms using CAD and have a Lifetime Warranty.

Comfort

Like any thermoplastic IWB holster, the position at which you are wearing it (e.g. appendix, 4 o’clock, etc.), can affect comfort. Of course, ride height and cant angle will also affect holster comfort (as well as concealment), so I appreciate that CYA holsters offer adjustable cant, and the “Path” IWB holster, also offers adjustable ride height.

Carrying my Bodyguard 2.0 in CYA’s Base IWB holster at the 1 o’clock position, proved to be very comfortable, even when seated, without any printing. Carrying my M&P Compact 3.6 in CYA’s Path IWB holster at the 4 o’clock position, was also very comfortable, without printing.

When it comes to appendix carry, particularly with a compact or larger pistol, the Path IWB holster is an excellent choice because it uses an extra strong Monoblock metal belt clip to more securely hold your holster in place. The Path IWB holster also utilizes a “claw” attachment, which helps to reduce “printing” by pushing your pistol’s grip closer against your body.

Retention

I found the retention from both of my CYA “Base” IWB holsters and my “Path” IWB holster to be outstanding, with a very tactile and audible “pop” or “click”. Of course, the degree of retention can be adjusted to your individual preference. Check out the video below of the “Base” IWB holster’s retention with my Smith & Wesson Bodyguard 2.0. Retention from the CYA “Path” IWB holster for my M&P 2.0 Compact 3.6″ was equally awesome.

CYA’s “Base” IWB Holster MSRP maxes out at just $39.74. With their 15% discount, that makes the “Base” IWB holster just $33.78! That is an incredible value for such an excellent quality, USA Made (in Texas), IWB holster packed with a lot of great features.
